Saving Your Files to OneDrive
What is OneDrive?
OneDrive is an "on-line hard drive" where you can save files and access and work on them virtually anywhere with your PC, or smart device such as a phone or tablet. You can also share your documents with others and collaborate on documents, as well. Your school Office 365 account gives you a one Terrabyte drive (1000G bytes.) That is enough room for a large number of files.
Why should I use it?
It is important to back up your files and documents from your older school laptop before you turn it in and OneDrive is a very logical and safe place to do it.
You should also back up your files periodically. In case of any hardware problems, your files will be safe on OneDrive.
Backing up your files is not difficult and there are several ways you can do this. You can select the one you feel most comfortable with.
Some important thoughts to remember are that backing up files to OneDrive can take some time. Documents are smaller and upload faster. Images, videos and music files are larger and can take more time. If you have many files, give yourself time. Also, it might be better to back up your files at home. Generally you have more time and the connection may be faster and take less time.
