Bubbles were blown and fun was had at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the 79th Street Elementary School playground.
Thanks to a State and Municipal Facilities (SAM) Capital Program Grant from Senator Robert Ortt's Office, the 450 children attending 79th Street Elementary School in the Falls now have a new and improved playground to enjoy.

The project, costing a bit under $160,000, entailed removal of the pre-existing playground and replacing it with new.

The existing playground was out of date and needed extensive repairs. The entire playground and the play surface is all new, and built to be compliant with all safety and ADA (Americans With Disabilities Act) requirements.

The new playground is brightly colored, replacing the browns, yellows, and greens of the former iteration.

A ribbon-cutting was held June 2, with the whole school joining Sen. Ortt, District officials, parents, and neighbors.
