Niagara Falls Board of Education – Policies Under Review
Policies are laws of the District, which may include regulations;there are specific procedural steps used to implement policies. Policies are needed for the general management, operation, control, maintenance, and discipline of schools by a Board of Education. It is the responsibility of the District, in conjunction with the Board, to determine what policies are needed to govern its district effectively.
District policies are being revised to bring them up-to-date with current practices and to be in compliance with statutory requirements.
To date, the Board of Education has reviewed over 107 polices. The affected policies have been revised in accordance with the law and local Board preference and are attached.(click on link below "NFBOE Policy Manual" to access policies).
The Board has reviewed and endorsed the recommended changes. In accordance with previous practice, these policies have been tabled for thirty (30) days to allow for sufficient review time by the Board and the public.
There are 8 major sections, each bearing a numeric code (When policies are under review, they will be posted here.):
1000 – Bylaws
2000 – Board Operations
